The Technical University Dortmund has developed a distinctive profile since its foundation more than 50 years ago. With 17 faculties spanning natural sciences, engineering, social sciences, and cultural studies, it combines academic excellence with interdisciplinary collaboration.

The Emschergenossenschaft and Lippeverband (EGLV) together form Germany’s largest water management association. They are responsible for wastewater treatment, flood protection, and the ecological development of the Emscher and Lippe river systems.

Through pioneering infrastructure and river restoration projects such as the Emscher Transformation Project, EGLV is setting new standards for sustainable water management and future-oriented urban development.
