Ecolution Award Ceremony: Wilo honours visionary water management projects
Four winning projects with benchmark significance for their industry
Dortmund. The Wilo Group has presented the Ecolution Award for the first time. This award honours efficient, reliable, environmentally friendly and therefore pioneering projects in water management. As part of the exclusive award ceremony at the Wilopark, four outstanding projects from Switzerland, China, India and the UK were recognised.

From 9 April to 30 September, Wilo customers from around the world were able to suggest themselves for the awards. A jury of industry experts considered the forty reference projects that were submitted from twelve countries and selected a total of four projects in three categories:
Wilo bestowed the award for first category, “Increasing Energy Efficiency”, to the project “Lange Erlen Pump Station” from the Swiss company IWB. In this project, a pumping station was upgraded with innovative technology to cover increasing energy requirements and make supply more reliable.
In the second category, “Exceeding Environmental Requirements”, the “Shanghai Zhuyuan Wastewater Treatment Plant Phase IV Project” from the Chinese company Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd. was acknowledged. In this project, the Zhuyuan Wastewater Treatment Plant was expanded, improving water quality and reducing environmental pollution.

Two projects were crowned winners in the third category, “Enhancing Operational Reliability”: The project “Nagalwadi Micro Lift Irrigation Scheme, Madhya Pradesh” from the Indian company Laxmi Civil Engineering Services Pvt. Ltd. has set new benchmarks in water supply by developing an irrigation system that ensures water is distributed fairly. The project “Water safety and optimisation” from the company Integrated Water Services M&E from the United Kingdom involves a large-scale modernisation of water infrastructure supplying water to 35 million people.
The Ecolution Awards 2024 were bestowed upon the winners at an exclusive ceremony at the Networking Cube in the Wilopark, the Wilo Group’s headquarters in Dortmund, Germany. “Already today, and even more so in future, water management is the key industry when it comes to solving the challenges related to the megatrend water shortage”, Oliver Hermes continues. “This is precisely what this award acknowledges.”
