German Brand Award: Wilo receives the top honour for “Pioneering WATER AI for You”
The company’s integrated corporate and brand strategy is setting new standards in the age of AI
Berlin. Wilo takes home two prestigious German Brand Awards (GBA): the water technology group was awarded gold in the “Excellence in Brand Strategy and Creation – Brand Strategy – B2B” category for its integrated corporate and brand strategy, “Pioneering WATER AI for You”, as well as the top honour, “Best of Best”, in the “Brand Strategy of the Year” category. This strategy demonstrates Wilo’s systematic convergence of water technology and AI, marking its entry into the WATER AI era.
“With ‘Pioneering WATER AI for You’, we are systematically integrating artificial intelligence into all Wilo strategies and processes, because we are convinced that AI is not only a genuine driver for innovation, but also delivers sustainable impact”, explained Oliver Hermes, President & Global CEO of the Wilo Group. “This far-reaching decision must naturally also be reflected in our brand communication. We see the accolades received at the German Brand Award as both affirmation of our approach and a commitment to continuing on this path.”
The GBA therefore recognised not only the Group’s visible communication but also the brand strategy underpinning it. This includes positioning the well-known Wilo brand as a pioneer in sustainability and smart water technology, while prioritising brand management as a steering tool and catalyst for transformation in the age of AI. “Every member of the Wilo family is an ambassador for our brand – and that is precisely why brand-building is key to achieving our ambitious goals”, continued Wilo CEO Hermes.
The GBA expert jury also highlighted Wilo’s people-centred brand positioning in its assessment. Amongst other things, it states: “With ‘Pioneering WATER AI for You’, Wilo develops a clear frame of reference that aligns corporate strategy, sustainability and brand around a shared objective. The positioning is especially precise: Artificial intelligence is not presented as an added feature, but as part of a responsibly conceived water technology that extends from solutions and processes to collaboration. This line is held together, both in terms of design and language, by ‘Pioneering WATER AI for You’ without losing sight of the human element.”
The German Design Council has been presenting the German Brand Award – one of the most prestigious awards for brand communication in Germany – since 2016.
