Strategic partnership: Wilo and InstaDeep shape the smart future of water
Pioneering companies sign cooperation agreement at Wilopark
Dortmund. By signing a partnership agreement, water technology group Wilo and AI technology company InstaDeep have sealed the deal to kick off a long-term cooperation. The two pioneering companies are now working on systematically integrating water technology and AI across several defined applications. The long-term goal of the multistage development partnership is to build a scalable AI platform.
The newly established cooperation exemplifies the Wilo Group’s strategic course: “We see artificial intelligence as a catalyst for our sustainable business activities”, explains Oliver Hermes, President & Global CEO of the Wilo Group. “We are improving quality of life for people around the world by systematically merging water technology and AI. This conviction unites Wilo and our new, renowned partner InstaDeep. We are very much looking forward to a successful collaboration.”
“By combining Wilo’s water expertise with InstaDeep’s AI know-how, we are paving the way for forward-looking, smart water infrastructure, bringing together innovation, safety and sustainability”, says Karim Beguir, CEO and co-founder of InstaDeep, at the signing ceremony at Wilopark. “What sets us apart is that we cover AI’s entire vertical spectrum. This holistic approach connects us with Wilo – an excellent starting point for the new partnership.”
Having signed the cooperation agreement at the Wilo Group’s headquarters, the development teams at Wilo and InstaDeep are now getting down to work. “Our colleagues are now working on a promising pilot project”, explains Peter Glauner, Regional CEO of Wilo Europe. The results of this first joint initiative alone would significantly improve the possibilities for smart water management in critical infrastructures.
For Wilo, the conclusion of the new partnership follows hot on the heels of the foundation of the Wilo Global WATER AI Academy. With this initiative, the water technology group is connecting science and industry worldwide and promoting applied science and innovation, as well as cooperation in the fields of water and AI across industry and national borders. Together with the internationally recognised Heriot-Watt University, the Wilo Global WATER AI Academy is currently designing an educational programme that is recognised within the international higher education system.
