Top EcoVadis ratings for Wilo: Platinum for the fifth time, outstanding for the third time
Group achieves its highest-ever score in prestigious sustainability ranking
Dortmund. Wilo has once again been awarded the ‘platinum’ medal by EcoVadis. This marks the fifth time in a row that the multinational water technology group has achieved the highest possible ranking from the renowned rating agency, as well as the third time in a row that it has been awarded the ‘outstanding’ distinction. With 91 out of a possible 100 points, Wilo achieved the best result in the company’s history, improving on the previous year’s score by a further three points. EcoVadis is one of the most renowned sustainability ratings agencies worldwide.
“Receiving the platinum award once again and achieving our new record score of 91 points are a clear indication of our unwavering commitment”, says Oliver Hermes, President & Global CEO of the Wilo Group. “For Wilo, sustainability is not an isolated area of activity but, like AI, a cornerstone of our Group Strategy – and therefore central to all our business activities. The fact that we have managed to improve on our already high score shows that we set the bar and are continuously evolving.”
Among other factors, this further improvement was driven by the external validation of Wilo’s non-financial indicators in line with EU sustainability reporting requirements, as well as the company’s membership in the Partnering Against Corruption Initiative (PACI), launched by the World Economic Forum. Another key factor was Wilo’s sustainable supply chain management: The expansion of the supplier risk assessment and the measures taken to manage conflict minerals were viewed particularly favourably in the rating.
“The 91 points reflect the consistent development of our sustainability management”, says Georg Weber, Global CTO of the Wilo Group. “From the independent validation of our reporting to our involvement in the PACI and our supply chain risk management: we continue to strive for more. Sustainability is not a process that is ever finished but is never-ending and transformational.”
The EcoVadis ratings are based on comprehensive criteria such as environmental awareness, labour conditions, ethics and sustainable sourcing practices. Companies worldwide use EcoVadis ratings to ensure that they themselves, their suppliers and their partners act sustainably. The Wilo Group was also recently recognised by the international non-profit organisation Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) for its transparency. In the climate category, the water technology group secured a place on the CDP’s prestigious “A List”.
